Thanksgiving has been such a big part of my life. To me, it signifies the beginning of the holiday season and a time to share with family and friends giving thanks for the many blessings given to us throughout the year. Now, that we live on the east we don’t get to go home to our families for the Holidays every year. This year we will be spending Thanksgiving with friends. In fact, Friendsgiving is a new tradition we have been taking part in for the last couple of years. I cook a big dinner, invite some of our closest friends, and spend the evening just hanging out or running after the toddlers. Lol…either way it is such a fun time. Having said that I’ve always wanted to put together a little Galsgiving if you will. A girlier version of a Friendsgiving just for the girls before they all head out of town for the Holidays. Read on to get the details on how to host your own girly Friendsgiving for your squad!
If you know me you know what I am about say…ready? FLORALS are an integral part of any table scape I design and put together. It sets the mood and establishes the look and feel you are trying to convey. Take this table for instance, it is so simple that without the pops of pink, purple and peach in the florals it wouldn’t be considered very girly at all! I’d suggest investing in some flowers from your local grocery store. Wholefoods and Trader Joes are great for a last minute floral run. If you need help putting together a pretty floral scheme. Try this one here. Or you could always fill a pretty gold vase with pink roses. That screams girly and is so simple to do.
Add little touches. I wish I would have had more time to personalize the table but I made do with the time I had. By adding mini gold pumpkins (that I already had around the house) as part of the place settings made the table feel more festive and feminine. If you are feeling extra ambitious this easy peasy DIY project would be so sweet to add just that bit of personalization.
This table took literally 10 minutes to put together. You don’t need a whole lot of frills to impress your best gal pals. All you need is good food, good company, and good wine to call it a successful Friendsgiving with your squad!
