Florals Living Party Planning 101

A Super Simple Table Setting That Makes A Big Impact

After an event I designed for a 50th anniversary dinner party in NYC, I had a bundle of seeded eucalyptus left over. I didn’t want it to go to waste and decided to create a very simple table setting with the left over bundle. The results were so impactful and it really took all of 10 minutes to put together. Its so important for me to share designs that are actually doable. As much as I like intricate table settings and floral designs, you truly don’t have to be a floral designer or spend a fortune to create a beautiful table setting for your guests. All you need is a little bit of creativity and a lot of love and you’re well on your way to creating a beautiful, simple and super cost effective table setting. Read on and i’ll show how!

As I mentioned I used a bundle of seeded eucalyptus for this design. A bundle is usually pretty cost effective at around $10/bunch. You get a lot for your money. When I do any design I begin with my base and continue to layer from there. Here my base is this simple linen table runner in a natural color. On top of the runner I layered the seeded eucalyptus. I created a faux garland of eucalyptus by snipping stems off of the bundle and forming clusters going down across the table making sure to fill any holes with another cluster of the eucalyptus. This doesn’t have to perfect as you’ll continue to layer and can fix and hide any gaps as you go.

On top of the seeded eucalyptus, I layered these beautiful fairytale candleholders in aged gold and added a simple white rose snipping the stem down to about an inch so that the rose head could sit just so in the candleholder. Super simple!

As an extra layer, I added these stemmed hurricane candle holders. I love these because they are thin and not intrusive. You want your guests to be able to see one another across the table and these allow free flow.

A nice piece of washed seeded eucalyptus adorned the soup bowls. And a linen napkin that coordinated with the table runner held the flatware.

I love nothing more than setting the scene with candles. I love, love, love candles! I added a few more votives just to add a bit more mood lighting to the table setting. These votives are simple, effective, and inexpensive. Perfect!

And that’s all there is too it. A simple, cost effective and super impactful table setting that can literally be done in minutes! I added all the details for recreating the look below. I hope you all enjoy your weekend!
