Today I am going to share a floral recipe that is near and dear to my heart. It is actually not one I concocted myself but one I learned from Shane Connolly when I studied at NY Flower School in Manhattan. Shane Connolly is an extraordinary talent. He’s created floral designs for some of the worlds most discerning clients. One to note is a little ol’ wedding called the Royal Wedding! Yup, Mr. Connolly and his small team of talented florists created the gorgeous floral designs that adorned Westminister Abbey for Prince Williams and Cate Middleton’s royal wedding. To say I was geeked to learn from this floral master was an understatement. To date this is one of my favorite recipes for its simplicity and use of the most natural organic ingredients. The foliage which grounds the design is something you can find in your yard. The grapes something you can pick up at your local market. There is actually not much to the recipe but when layered it brings such interest to the eye. Its earthy and beautiful and full of moody fall tones. Its the perfect flower arrangement for your Thanksgiving table!
1 Bunch of Grapes
15 Dahlia (mix of burgundy and white)
3 White Hydrangea
Foliage (I prefer foliage with rich greens and some added texture like seeds or berries)
